Craig:

Glad to see that this infant thread hasn't died in the delivery room. Cost of Joe's book inhibiting wide recognition you think? I've gotten it but haven't read it as thorougly as you. I'm still trying to assimilate and apply. Perhaps it will become as well read as my copy of Trading for a Living; from my first read through I think it has a similar amount of useful info. Like you, my casual review of past stock patterns has revealed a lot of support for using fib analysis. Now I need to really learn how.

What charting software do you use? I'm running WOW 5.0, but haven't tried to write any scans using DiNapoli's techniques. I'm not certain that the predefined fib fans, times and arcs are the same. Haven't seen any "levels" defined there, but think that Metastock may have them. I have setup some displaced MAs visually, but not as automated scans yet.

Have you automated any of his triggers? Developed scans based on his ideas or the book's content? Would like to see some more posts from you on what/how you are applying DiNapoli's work and I'll try to keep up and add some analysis of my own. I'm doing stocks only, long and short; no comodities, options or futures just now.

Thanks for starting this thread.

Peace and Justice --- Patrick

The fickle winds of fate blew both ways today....

MED is being taken over, which gave it a nice lift. Not bad for less than a week. A foul wind blew with REAL. After I purchased the stock the company anounced a plant closing and the stock got smacked. Hoping for a RR Track (really hoping hard), otherwise I hope to catch a fib retracement to exit.

Tonights ideas...
ENR - Envirotest, set up for a retracement, still maintaining bullish weekly MACD/Stoch.

ABTX - Watching this one for a double repo to form. Hasn't dipped below the 3x3 MA yet, but has had good thrust.

Question: Is anyone using hard stops? There are strong opinions on both sides of the issue.
