VLSI is pretty well deversified, they are not putting all thier eggs in one basket, they will be around for awhile.
Today is the big day, don't be surprised if estimates are not blown away, and next quarter doesn't look rosy (AMD). But, by buying VLSI at this price and below, beating the s&p 500 and 80% of the fund managers will be a cake walk. However the recent price action does suggest buy at 19 and sell at 23, this is hard to argue with. My opinion only of course.

Hi again Marcie, I'm glad to hear that you did some downside averaging. It's my feeling that VLSI is still on track to double its sales and, most likely, book value in the next 3-5 years. We can assume that they will also increase earnings proportionally, however more sporatically.

At $22+ it's stuck in the middle of my present trading range. I only make small incremental adjustments to my portfolio and don't trade the whole position at once. I'll be adding about 5% to my position at $18-3/4 and will sell off 5% if the price rises to $26. This is a bit broader band than you are using.

There's some pretty good hunting in the tech sector right now. These stocks, including VLSI have been bashed about as much as they can be. Value Line's Worst Performers list (page 33 of the Index section) is littered with tech stocks. VLSI was on that list a few weeks ago! I'll venture a guess that we'll see it on the Best Performers list within the next 6 months. It's visited both lists quite a few times over the years!

Hope this helps with your thinking on VLSI. My graphs are at
execpc.com for your review. I'm also long IDTI, VTSS, DIGI, CGNX, APCC, ASND, CHIR, CGEN, GENE, NERX, BSX and JBIL (new).

Best regards, Tom
