The overhead NG heaters are very nice. We put those in our bodyshop in Texas.

I put pex in the concrete of an outside basement when I built a handicap ramp at my school house.

The older building had a natural gas boiler that heated water in a radiant heat system.

The basement pex needed to be hooked up to an existing zone (required a thermostat to open the zone valve).

I'm amazed at how just a little heat in the concrete keeps the outside basement dry - before it was hooked up I had a mildew / moisture problem.

If you pour cement - the pex is a simple addition. The real easy way to hook it up is to hook it up to a 50 gallon hot water heater vs the boiler and a thermostat.

Just start it up when you need to be out there.

If you choose to put pex in or not, pour that concrete over 2 inch insulation. They come in 4x8 sheets and run about 18-20 bucks a piece. Lay them out and use duct tape to connect them into one big piece of insulation.

That will stop the possibility of frost moving your concrete slab around .

Not sure if you live in a cold enough area for frost to be a concern?

Either way it looks really good - I'm going to be pushing some dirt around for a shed on my 40 acres after the soy beans are harvested this fall.

Hope to get my shed up and dried in next summer.

Always something to do when you do get retired. It's a wonderful time to do what you want to do.

It requires some financial plaNNING - WHICH HAS TAKEN MORE OF MY TIME THAN I THOUGHT - TOTALLY BECAUSE I'VE CHOSEN TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND AM HAVING FUN WITH IT!
