I'm not sure how Forbes calculates their numbers, but according to Bob's newsletter, Portfolio I has done +251.6%, Portfolio II, +268.7%, and Portfolio III has done +113.1%, total return since 1-1-88. This works out to be +25.16% (Port.I), +26.87% (Port.II), and 13.31% (Port III) per year averaged over the last 10 years. Could it be the difference in time frame? Forbes began their 10 year period in August 87, just before the October correction. I have no data on how Bob's suggested portfolios did in Oct 87.

I don't know about you, but +25% per year over the last 10 years sounds pretty good to me. Sure be nice if it could continue.

Chuck

Renee; Thats intresting about the gains beng so low, not just of
BBs picks but of the average, I have tracked upgrades and downgrades
by all the major anal-cyst since JULY this year..guess what there
is not one who is ahead. Some of them are 10 to 20% behind, this
includes the supposed hotest pickers. It was a lot of work, down
loading soeting and then charting the stocks in relation to the
recomendations, the results are impressive at least to me, these
guys are Con artist of the frist magnitude. They are smoother, and
slicker at telling lies than the politians.
Do you notice that they always pick a LOW to start with like
the LOW of 87..apples to apples you would compare highs, to
highs, but picking low take off points is one of their
tricks of the trade..and do a study on the indexes..look at
how often stocks are droped out of an index, and some new
flyer is put in..sure makes things look better than they would
be if they were not juggled..oh the index is up so and so..
but no mention of the poor dogs that not only got droped out
but went on become a penny stock or compleatly crash.
