I understand what you're saying. You are wrong. Our Constitution guarantees the players' right to free speech. Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Neither you, Congress or the NFL has the power to enact any law that would infringe that right. Any restrictions the NFL wishes to impose on the players' right to free speech in the workplace will have to be agreed to by the players' union as part of their collective bargaining process. Until such an agreement is in place, there will continue to be no restriction of the players' right to free speech as a condition of employment. I'm sure we'll be hearing more about this in the future. Until the players agree to give up their freedom of speech at work, they are free to take a knee during the anthem whether you like it or not.
