The decision comes after Judge T. S. Ellis III denied a defense motion seeking to acquit Mr. Manafort, alleging prosecutors from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office did not prove their case. Judge Ellis asked Mr. Manafort if he wished to testify on his own behalf, but the political strategist replied, “No, Sir.” Both sides will debate jury instructions Tuesday afternoon before making their closing arguments.
