NEW YORK, Jan 15 (Reuters) - Morgan Stanley Dean Witter said it lowered its rating on Check Point Software Technologies Inc to neutral from outperform. -- An impending announcement from Cisco Systems Inc and Microsoft Corp about strategy for Cisco firewall products could lead some potential Check Point buyers to delay their purchases. -- Competitive issues will not immediately affect Check Point financial results, but may do so longer term if Cisco executes well. -- But Check Point has many positive trends under way. -- Morgan's earnings estimates for Check Point remained unchanged. -- Check Point was off 4-1/16 at 35-3/16 in morning trading.
