OT

Thanks for reminding me, Pete, about the OT's -- I'm usually pretty good about it.

I take it you are a new shareholder in ASND?

More or less -- I've been trading it since September, back when it was at $37 and the conversations on this thread were pretty much the same as they are now, just with each dollar figure in each post higher by $10 or so (e.g., "Ought to hit $50 by the end of the quarter," "Covering my short at $34"). Ah, the good old days.

IMHO (that's "in my humble opinion")

I know your mini-tutorial was to "all the other new shareholders," not just me, so I won't respond to it, but I feel pretty comfortable with the net abbreviations (I've been hacking computers since 1978, and depending on your OS, chances are that at this moment you're running some code I wrote). Thanks anyway, though.

I'm pasting, below, information emailed to me by Bob Paul:

Did anyone see Michael Murphy on "Digital Jam" on CNNFN last night? A caller
asked about ASND and he said it was the most interesting stock in the
networking area and that they are heavily researching the stock. He said they
were checking to see when they would start to really make the big earnings and
might be looking to add the stock soon. He was asked about the Lucent rumor
(apparently there was more talk of a LU buyout yesterday although I didn't
hear anything on CNBC), and said basically that they were interested in the
fundamentals and that if they get bought out, that it would be all the better.
He said that obviously you shouldn't buy just on takeover rumors and check out
the fundamentals first. He was very upbeat about the stock. Anyone see it and
remember more?
Another point of interest for ASCEND - this was today from the senior
writer at Fortune, Andrew Serwer.... More rumors today that Lucent is going to
buy Ascend.
Lucent boys wouldn't comment on that deal, but say they ARE
interested in high end networking equipment. COME ON Lucent!!!
Pull the damn trigger already! Before, I don't know, Cisco puts it
out of its misery!!!!!
