It appears that quite a few folks on this thread invest in AMD or Cyrix because they HATE Intel or ARE JEALOUS of Intel's great success. That is a mistake investing in stocks. You should not have any emotion about stocks.

John,

It is you who appears to be emotionally hooked on "Intel's great success". I am looking for either a trend or trading range. I think Intel will get pinned to 75 tomorrow and climb to 80 next week.

PTB

P.S. I am long INTC and short INTC Jan 70 calls.

re - because they HATE Intel

I've noticed over the year that most of the AMD people on this thread when attacking Intel have often been goaded into it. The last I saw this was an AMD thread and when your are continually buffeted with the competition (you just have to check the number of posts) it often forces you to reply in a manner that you normally would not have -emotionally.
And I am not saying that it should be only pro AMD here - just that these threads tend to get more emotional when you are being continually put into a defensive position.

ps - some emotion is good in investing..you just have to know when to let go
