Mark: See my post #6404 regarding South Carolina and tobacco. BTW, I think I'll post the tobacco data on The State's forum.

trying to ban cigarettes and public smoking more than vgm;s

Couldnt let that one go by.. He should be leaving us alone to live our lives as we see fit!!!! It is not up to gov to ban anything! If person a gets his/her pet peeve banned, then person b wants his and on and on, you see where it leads......

Mark: Here is a VERY interesting article regarding South Carolina AG Condon and the tobacco industry:

augustachronicle.com

I was particularly intrigued by the following:

"Condon has attempted to walk a fine line in dealing with the tobacco companies. He initially refused to join more than two dozen other states, saying smokers knowingly take risks when they light up.

Then when appeared states not participating in the lawsuit might get a smaller cut of a settlement that could amount to $375 billion, he sued to get a seat at the table."

Just like a politician. Wants to have it both ways BUT...money talks and BS walks. The same will happen with video poker.
