Pierre, as far as I know, if your payments during the year where at 90% of the prior year than the balance is paid on April 15, but a CPA should tell these details.

Estimated taxes (the 4th quarter) is due by 15 Jan. But in terms of state tax, you will be better off to give them before the end of Dec., and then you can deduct it in the current year schedule A.
