I have been running around from thread to thread trying to find a
stock that would be a 1st-rate investment for a longplay and I am
quite surprised to see I am considering Micron, but noted it was on
a run-up and found out about the hiring of Kocher--can this guy
do it????Can he turn Micron around, his Dell background says yes--is
not the reason Micron has been heading for some time due south that
it has been slaughtered by bad marketing, could a complete
revamping make this a major turnaround or is this just vacuous thought
on my part??max90

sridhar, the past is often a very good (never perfrect) indicator of the future. for example, mu was supposed to earn $0.45+ in q4 and $3.00 plus in 1998. when they earned $0.33 instead of the expected $0.45+ then all the 1998 estimates were reduced by a lot.

the past is only as valuable as it indicates the future. to say that it has no or only minimal bearing is often not the case.

good luck.
