The IRS doesn’t withhold taxes. The employer does. And I can say from experience that illegals fully understand they need to write a big number on the W4 to avoid paying withholding.

The claim cited in your article was incorrect. It was not claimed they paid 23 billion in income taxes. The employer paid 23 billion in SS and Medicare taxes combined with any income taxes that happened to get paid.

But some of these people DO get refundable credits, and some get other benefits. If they visit an ER they are cared for like ANY OTHER PATIENT. Even if it means thousands in health care costs. In some states they qualify for all manner of free benefits which then become part of the state's debt.

Don’t make out as though it doesn’t cost a ton of money to have illegals here.
