That is disappointing. I wonder why they didn't use the release of the new drive as the opportunity to stop Nomai cold? Since they knew about the Nomai problem many months prior to the Zip Plus release, It seems like they would have designed protection into it.

From what I understand, the Nomai disks should not function in the laptop Zip drives due to the difference in placement of the emitter/receiver. If they had designed the Zip Plus to reject the Nomai disks, then just gradually phased out the standard Zips there wouldn't be much of a market for Nomai. (too many incompatable drives, you couldn't count on the disks working at your friends house, or the service bureau, Kinko's, etc.)
