Why should federal employees get a raise? All-in compensation packages vs. private enterprise are higher anyway. But Trump's objective is to move toward a merit-based system, and that's as it should be. Hell, being unfireable is worth something. That a federal employee can take the 5th when questioned about her work activities is an outrage. I personally believe this job market would be an excellent time to cut a large number of federal employees loose and replace them with better technology. This would convert some of these people to more productive jobs which helps the economy rather than being a drain on it.
