There is a difference between being unfit to serve and being ready. He's fifty years old with a track record. She's a naive kid from out of nowhere. With time she might prove herself both fit and ready. It's absurd to attribute any charge of lack of current readiness to her gender when there are so many other variables. Were that the case, this seasoned feminist would have picked up on it in an instant. Playing the gender card so cavalierly does no favor to the credibility of the cause for women. Same as the race card or any other card.
