boy you don't history very well. FDR helped get the US out of that depression, WW2 helped as well

But he, like you and most others in this thread, mistakenly believed you could stimulate the economy back into growth by spending money on consumption. Exactly what Obama did. Trump, and Reagan, among others, showed that economic stimulus requires the stimulation of business, because it is productivity that causes economies to grow, not consumption. It is merely a misunderstanding of how growth happens.
