The misunderstanding of basic economics shows you how stuck in his ideological world this guy is. Consumption drives growth. add money to consumers and they buy more - thus growth! Business spending more in the short term can increase growth by producing more - BUT that just increases the shit for sale. Without the new shit having a market it doesn't take very much smarts to realize the consumption falls off and growth drops.

I know you think this but it is simply not that way.

You can create very short-term Aggregate Demand by spending borrowed money, which utilizes existent unused capacity.

But you must, absolutely, have production to produce any sustained growth and the way you get it is applying stimulus to the supply side. It is production, NOT demand, that causes sustained growth.

You guys can never understand that, but it is the reason Keynes has been disproved, and even Henry Morganthau knew it before the Depression was up and he said so. Spending money does not work. Never has, never will.

Obama spent a trillion dollars, and managed to drag out a recession for nearly a decade. And before that trillion was spent some of us cautioned that it has never throughout history been shown to stimulate an economy such that it can move forward on its own volition.

And you and I have argued this 100 times and it hasn't changed a bit.

Chief of staff John Kelly describes Trump as an "idiot" and "unhinged," Woodward reports. Defense Secretary James Mattis describes Trump as having the understanding of "a fifth or sixth grader." And Trump's former personal lawyer John Dowd describes the President as "a fucking liar," telling Trump he would end up in an "orange jump suit" if he testified to special counsel Robert Mueller.

"He's an idiot. It's pointless to try to convince him of anything. He's gone off the rails. We're in crazytown," Kelly is quoted as saying at a staff meeting in his office. "I don't even know why any of us are here. This is the worst job I've ever had."
