NextWave to Start Testing New PCS Network in Las Vegas

PRNewswire (01/14/98) -- PCS licensee NextWave Telecom has deployed a PCS network in Las
Vegas, making the city NextWave's first F-Block market ready to undergo testing. A trial of the system is
slated to start soon, and NextWave hopes to introduce commercial service in Las Vegas later in the year. The
network uses equipment from LG InfoComm, marking the first commercial installation of LG InfoComm's
CDMA PCS infrastructure in the United States. The Las Vegas Basic Trading Area holds over 1.1 million
potential customers and it one of the top 50 U.S. markets. NextWave Telecom holds 95 PCS licenses, giving
the carrier access to over 163 million potential customers.
