Looking at ta indicators like rsi, mom, and stochs:this last bounce looks similar to the one we had earlier this month only to move to lower lows. Some of these stocks just bounced off rsi 50 level and headed lower. Not good.GD

RDC losses deepening and GLM now down. Others across the board seem to be fading. There is still money selling these stocks on strength. The downtrend is confirmed. Set your stops, ladies and gentlemen.

Thean: Looks like our concerns are well-justified, at least short term. BTW, where do you tend to set your stops on this group?

Regards,
B

I have rarely been impressed with a conf call so much as
I was GLM. It lasted 2 hours and though I missed some in the middle,
I heard some good Q & A. This company is blowin and going.
To hear them say it, there is no slowing down anywhere.ANYWHERE>
If any thing, it is getting tighter and tighter.
Dayrates are escalating, backlogs are growing and performance
is rising.
The CEO explained that oil producers like to have a stable
price, and over the last decade, oil prices have been stable
and will continue to be stable in the future.
If you are a trader, every little squiggle is of monumental
significance.
This industry is cooking and if anything the situation
will be more of a shortage crunch in 1999 than now.

My advice : BUY GLM
I think we will see this share price quickly recover, and
if you try to trade this , I think you will be left
at the gate more than getting on board at each short term bottom.
I predict upper 20's within 6 weeks. Why, because I feel
the analyst were convinced of the strong fundamentals and
I dont think any other broadbased sector can offer the same.

Thean....
<BW - what are you doing with your itchy fingers these days? Surfing?>
Thanks for asking..Played this one perfect. Was holding a full boat of GLM and MDCO bought at the lows of yesterday. Sold into cash first thing this morning into the strength. Figured the old axiom of "buy on the rumor..sell on news" was really in force with the GLM earnings..Those that have followed the drillers know that there basically won't be any big earnings surprises from the better known companies..since in this business, the day-rates, utilizations, etc..are all fairly well known in advance by the street. When I said yesterday that $15 oil will be tested in the coming weeks..if this comes to pass it doesn't bode well for the short term outlook.
You have been calling this market with a keen eye, and I also want to thank you for the advice on my suggestion of a buy & hold strategy for one year. As the last weeks attest, I am getting better at timing this crazy market..and if losses are cut quickly, and profits taken sooner..a better outcome can be achieved.
Best of luck to all....
