on my stove the exhaust runs the length of the rear of the stove....this is the oven exhaust.

most times a 48" exhaust fan will pull the fumes and force them out via a 4" exit.

I have one sitting upstairs that I bought for this stove but never felt the need....that was about 10 years ago.

if the flame burns blue...it is getting sufficient oxygen and emits little CO.

orange flame is the bad one.
