FiberOptic, I like your handle.
I guess....or should I say my guess...... is that we have a lot of people "in" at around the $30 price......Give or take $5......(This gdamn thing swings wildly when it swings)......and they are all waiting for the earnings report &/or the possible buy-out by IBM. It sits because everyone is just waiting. No sellers....No buyers...Look at the volume today as an example. The average volume is over 2,000,000...but today is only 800,000. This has been going on for weeks now. So, hang on. I Believe the earnings will be good.
I am planning on getting out after the report. DWW II

Fiberoptic, I also bought(feb 35 options) lately and am thinking the sideways stock movement maybe due to the nervousness in the whole market. It's suprising though that box makers are being affected as much as they are. They ,imo, seem to be one of the few industries that are going to benifit from the devaluation of the asian currencies. Gateway should benifit the most (in comparison dell and compaq) because they have almost no asian sales and they buy a equal amount of their subsystems from asian manufactures.
Time will tell but tomorrow maybe another good chance to buy on a dip due to triple witching. I may buy the march options though, feb. is just to close and now everyone seems to be more worried about 1 st quarter earnings instead of forth quarter results. Go fish.

Good Luck.

PS. Dan, I have also heard the rumor that IBM maybe buying Gateway.
It comes from what I consider to be a reliable source, but remember
rumors are worth what you pay for them.
--- Did anyone else notice that 108,000 block trade a couple of days ago?

Glad to hear your GTW computers work good for you because I know many people that work at gateway that had problems with their gateway computers.

- One of them ordered a high watt power supply because she ordered a higher speed computer and they told her she didn't need it. Needless to say they put a lower watt power supply in her computer(and she ordered the higher watt one) and it blew out a few days after she got it.
- Another guy ordered his computer and had a lot of problems with it. Tech. support keep telling him to reload windows, which he did twice and it turned out the jumpers were set wrong, at the factory.
(They had the same problem with a dozen computers they got shipped to their plant(for use in house) from the main plant.
- Yet another girl I know that works at GTW, got her computer and her monitor died the second day she had it. When she called they told her to send it back and they would replace it. Then they ended up sending her two brand new 17" monitors.
- Another guy ordered his computer and they told him it would be their within the week, it wasn't. After a few weeks and after he called many times, he recieved a letter in the mail saying that his computer would be delayed. By this time he was ready to cancel the order and found out that his computer was not only already together, but it had been sitting around for two weeks, without being sent out.

****All of those people work at gateway, too.****
