Of course, RBC knows, or should know that NAND is just one part of WDC revenues and earnings. So the rest doesn't count?

Sounds like you've only read an article about the report, and not the actual report.

What's interesting to me is that the RBC focus on NAND suggests reduced demand for smartphones


An imbalance of supply versus demand says nothing about demand. Oversupply exists in the face of increasing demand. If demand is doubling, and supply is tripling, there will be downward pressure on prices, despite the substantially increased demand.
