TKA-- I had heard yesterday that the debate was off because nobody from the industry wanted to give the outside speaker "air time" and they felt it was sort of a no win situation. Today, however in talking to a reporter from the "State" he said it was on and that they had Michelle Davis covering it. I called to confirm that there were protesters marching at the state house today which he confirmed. It will be interesting to see how much space they give it in tomorrows paper. The other person I talked to yesterday said the industry was more interested in getting TV exsposure for the protest than the newspaper.

It was interesting that this reporter, who I am sure prefers to remain nameless, didn't believe that Beasley has a prayer of a chance of getting the industry declared illegal. He confirmed that the total revenue loss of over $200 million including corporate taxes and license fees could not be passed up by the state.

I like the idea of getting the analogy of the tobacco money in front of the public and especially Beasley and the anti-video poker crowd.
