I received my American Express bill today, and noted that there was a fee of $38 for no payment made.....

Seemed odd since I had mailed payment with time to spare, so I called to talk to a representative. The rep told me that the payment had since shown up, but it was after the date for a new bill to go out....thus the late fee. No problem, glad the payment showed up. The rep asked if there was anything else he could help with, so I told him that I would be traveling to Vietnam in November, and to please note that so I wouldn't have problems using the card in Vietnam....he asked where I would be going in Vietnam, I told him the areas involved and that we were doing non-profit work while we are there. He asked about CTH, so I told him.....then he said thank you, he is Vietnamese, and still has family there. He closed by saying that he had noted we were traveling to Vietnam, and he would send a nice new card before we left, and he was rescinding the late fee in appreciation.. . )
