The problem with rubber hoses is they are under pressure all the time, even when not in use and they dry out and can rupture and cause water damage. The steel braided hoses won't rupture.

Rubber hoses last a lifetime (maybe) if you remember to shut of the valve after each use. It only takes one time to have a hose burst and make a mess of nearly everything in a wide radius.... speaking from expensive experience here... believe me.

Those metallic hoses are very cheap insurance.... again, believe me!

For the little bit of washing the two of us do rubber hoses can last a lifetime!
Doesn’t matter how often, or little, you wash. The hoses are under pressure all the time.
