Decided to remove all the drywall for the laundry excluding the ceiling.

It's only 3x7 feet and few more sheets of plywood and fiberglass paneling won't matter much for the cost.

Bleach is a very good anti-mold agent. Add one cup of bleach to one gallon of water and apply it to the moldy spots. Source: Blackmoldguard
