This morning I was finishing up a creative job for a client, and had to go to the printer's website to get their production and file transfer specs. The company, Modern Postcard near San Diego, is one of the country's premier printers of color postcards. Here's an excerpt from their FAQ: << Can I Compress My Files So They Fit On Floppy Disks? DO'NT use compression, as it tosses out some data and is not true to the original file. If files are more than 3 MB, please submit them on a ZIP disk or Jaz disk. Why Don't You Take SyQuest or Magneto Optical Disks? We have not had good results with these disk types. When our customer's send us a disk, the last thing they want to hear is "We are unable to read your disk"! We have had excellent results using ZIP.
