Here is a big long table with a follow on chart on the SOXM stocks and selected stocks therein.

It is a lot of numbers that is not for everyone, but overall it shows the action for the 28 stock SOXM group which has stayed constant over the period starting 3/17/17 until the present. During the remainder of 2017 note the constant, fairly steep rising slope of the earnings estimates. Along with the rising prices of the SOXM index, the PE values remained within a relatively constant band. This continued to roughly the Nov 2017 period when Morgan Stanley made their "get out of semis call". The right side PE columns with the dark green blocks show the peak values for PE in the table. Since that time, PE values have been on a downtrend to the lowest values ever in the table marked by the red blocks in August.

Over 2018 the earnings estimates have continued to rise, but at a slower pace than 2017. The close price column shows a peak value for the table occurring the week of 3/16/18 at 2245.19. Presently the index price is off by over 200 points. In other words, earnings estimates have held up, index price is down, and therefore PE values have gone from the peak 18/19 level to the low 14/15 level at the present time.

The chart at the bottom of the table of a few stocks is a "picture" of what the precise table values show in detail. The chart uses SMH as the base performance over the precise period from 3/17/17 to the present.

Don,

The excerpt must have come from an old article. Value of AMD at today's

Dialing Up a Notch in AMDIn the second quarter, Man GLG fired up bullish confidence on AMD, adding another 1,365,974 shares. Now, the hedge fund firm owns 1,530,407 shares in AMD worth $15,732,000- an upbeat 831% boost.
