BOMBSHELL: US Officials Reveal Mitch McConnell’s Threat to Obama if He Exposed Russia Before Election
By James Lyttle
Published on September 18, 2018
washingtondailywire.com

As you’ve no doubt heard by now, report after report has been released alleging that Russia interfered with the 2016 U.S. Presidential election to help Donald Trump win.

What is also coming to light now is that the senate majority leader Mitch McConnell (R. – KY) actively worked to keep the CIA from releasing the information during the election, to the point of threatening to blame it on the Obama White House playing partisan politics should it get released.

Intelligence agencies identified people with connections to the Russian government who gave WikiLeaks thousands of hacked emails from the DNC, which included those of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, US officials say. The officials described the people involved as actors known to the intelligence community and part of a wider Russian operation to boost Trump and hurt Clinton’s chances of winning the presidential election.

U.S. intelligence agencies knew this was happening, so it wasn’t just a conspiracy theory from the biased left-wing media. It was actual U.S. intelligence agencies saying they knew it was happening. That didn’t stop McConnell, though:

“The Democratic leaders in the room unanimously agreed on the need to take the threat seriously. Republicans, however, were divided, with at least two GOP lawmakers reluctant to accede to the White House requests.

According to several officials, McConnell raised doubts about the underlying intelligence and made clear to the administration that he would consider any effort by the White House to challenge the Russians publicly an act of partisan politics.”

Some Republicans in the room were reportedly opposed to going public with such explosive allegations with the election bing so close, arguing it would “rattle public confidence and play into Moscow’s hands.”

Now, a source incredibly close to the situation, namely former Vice President Joe Biden, is confirming this news, and says the blame lies with one man in particular: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

According to reports, Obama drafted a bipartisan statement about Russia’s interference and asked McConnell to sign it with him. According to Politico, McConnell refused, and Obama knew that with the lack of a bipartisan rebuke of Russia, they would have more to use against Hillary Clinton, as Biden explained:

Biden said that Obama “would sit there literally after each press briefing and say, ‘What the hell are we going to do?’”

Biden told Council on Foreign Relations President Richard Haas that he regrets the administration’s hesitation to take action before the election. “Had we known what we knew three weeks later, we may have done something more,” he said.

“Can you imagine if the president called a press conference in October, with this fella, Bannon, and company, and said, ‘Tell you what: Russians are trying to interfere in our elections and we have to do something about it,’” Biden said. “What do you think would have happened? Would things have gotten better, or would it further look like we were trying to delegitimize the electoral process, because of our opponent?”

We’ll never know, Mr. Biden. There’s nothing to do about it now, except to make sure measures are taken to make sure our democratic elections remain sound going forward.
