Singapore : The People's Action Party ( abbreviation: PAP) is a major centre-right [3] political party in Singapore. [4] [5] It was founded in 1954 as a pro-independence political party descended from an earlier student organization. It has gone on to dominate the political system of the nation.

Since the 1959 general elections, the PAP has dominated Singapore's politics and has been credited as being central to the city-state's rapid political, social, and economic development. [6] In the 2015 Singapore general election, the most recent election held in 2015, the PAP won 83 of the 89 constituency elected seats in the Parliament of Singapore, with 69.86% of total votes cast.

a dictatorship, masquerading as a democracy

This seems to be the world wide trend. Controlled free enterprise the follows what Musolini started. A Fascist economic system.o

The Chinese system is probably best described as a Benevolent Oligarchy - we could call them CINO's -- Communists In Name Only. If you think of it, what is our modern bureaucratic state? With all the many millions of pages of regulations, our government probably has more control over the economy than the Chinese so-called Commies.

Hegel - whom, as I recall, you don't like much - after giving it a lot of thought, concluded that the best possible political system is Benevolent Dictatorship. But... he was working during the late 18th and the first few decades of the 19th century... the world has changed since then.

The fascists are really rolling. Amusingly, the antifa are the actual fascists. But they don't know about history. They think racist and fascist are just interchangeable insults.
