I appreciate you emailing Ron Bishop and getting his views on this issue as well.

I called my financial advisor and told him about what feltburner posted. I then asked him to check it out and call me back. In that time period I called several other programmers from different companies such as SCBI, VIAS, and SEEC and asked them the following questions.

I specifically asked if a client hadn't sent all the code and their were files missing would that cause a parsing error ?

They all confirmed that yes since parsing is the initial step in performing a detailed analysis of the code, an error may result if there is code missing. In that case it would show that the client needs to find more code.

I also asked them if that was a way of determining if you have all the code and they said yes.

Then I asked about the difference between parsing error and a conversion error, and they all stated categorically that they are two different things.

After this, I received a fax from my advisor and it stated that he called ConSyGen and they didn't use a parser for the date field analysis and correction of the MOT pilots and no one has heard anything about any errors. I posted that on this thread.

I appreciate your comments and look forward to the results of what you find out.
