Nah, not 8... maybe 6... 4 of them have (or will have) habitable dwellings and all but one of those I actually use (or will be living in part of the year)... the other is a farmhouse where the tenants take care of the orchards (cherry) and other ag we have going there -- thinking about growing hops where the aging apple orchard is... no row crops, just "truck" farm type misc. veggies, etc. Oh and all but one are right here in N. Mich. pretty close together, a couple are contiguous with the old family cottage. I also own 1/3 interest in some obscenely rich farmland down in Ohio just outside the town where I was born and grew up (farming, naturally).

Now that I am retired, I am my own property manager -- took me months to find the right store for my "outfits"... finally found what I needed at TSA (tractor supply store and other stuff for people in the boonies). But my normal outfit is a T-shirt, khaki shorts and Top Sider shoes -- I wear that almost year 'round in San Diego, but if we're going formal or it's "Aloha Friday" or something, I put on a nice, authentic aloha shirt from a closet that is mostly full of them.

Now that Fall has arrived here in Mich., I found my jeans and sweat shirts, and I usually wear steel toed shoes up here because of what I am doing, but when construction winds down, it'll be back to board shorts/swim suit most of the warm months. Oh and I found my ski jacket/winter coat I bought in 1985 up here... last time I wore it skiing in Cal., all of the younger (i.e., 90% of the skiers there) people commented on what a cool retro ski jacket I have -- I forgot my insulated bibs once and skied in jeans -- everyone thought I was Rip Van Winkle or something... I always get comments on the slopes because of my age and appearance... oh well, it also means everyone's always trying to offer me help with things and I don't even have to ask.
