I broke an outdoor lamp installing it at a friend's house a couple days ago. Actually broke the base the lamp fits on and sold separately from main fixture, but it was made out of pot-metal and took the last screw down too far with a power drill and it shattered the corner of the base. It will be 7-10 days to get a replacement. I had no Idea how fragile it was. It will go on a back column of his fence. I was so mad at myself.

I finally put an end to it (on my end anyway) through my VISA card issuer by disputing the charge.

That should clear you and is your best option. I ordered one in the store and it was not smoothly done either.

Can't cancel because already shipped, can't find it, suggested I call UPS to track it down.

Contacting UPS can be just as frustrating as contacting Best Buy, even if you are a "My Choice" member. I would at least get a complaint or case number just in case Visa ever wants some proof of it.

Visa should stick up for you but remember that Best Buy is a much better customer for Visa than you or I together.
