Hey, Ashley! Attended seminars at Cal while Jim was there, had lots of friendly exchanges. Even better luck... he was invited to speak at Lair of Bear, the Cal alumni summer camp. (Our week, I took the kids every year, same week.)

And the guest speaker gets a free "cabin" for the week, so I had him as captive theorist over smores.

Even better luck..... he enjoyed himself so much that he returned as a camper the following year. So I'm lucky to have had his occasional ear, and very much respect his accomplishments.

I was lucky, in the correct places at correct time, and collaborated two other Nobel winners. Very briefly, I collaborated with Dr. Winter re. humanizing a MAb specific for the core region of a Gram-negative lipopolysaccharide.....
