I like a rural atmosphere, but the older you get, the more important nearby medical services become.

Hi Loco,

Funny you mention that - both of our phones just went off - emergency thunderstorms due in our neck of the woods.

Yea I grew up on these forty acres from 14 on.

My Mom passed in June of 2017. Just bought the place as we dissolved the trust.

I like to have a place where I have many youthful memories and it is rural - so I went to school with every one.

Most of my parents friends are now gone , but I try to take care of those around with garden veggies and deer meat.

It's a simple life and even my city of Chicago wife admits she's learned to like it.

She's met local ladies and we go on vacations to Jamaica with them - except we fly in from Houston by then.

I love the outdoors hunting and fishing in the fall is a blast and gardening takes my springs and summers.

Here's a picture of this year's bountiful harvest - it was a bumper crop :

Still have hundreds of hot peppers, cabbage, kohlrabi, and squash growing in the garden.
