It also reverses directions at expiration ue to the fact that most options positions are arbitraged against equity positions, and tend to "unwind" towards the largest net open interest positions as they are liquidated at expiration. However, there are purportedly far more options hedges in private transactions, so CBOE open interest is not necessarily the correct indicator of the largest open interest.

Thanks for the information. You are certainly right about today being an up day. I guess today is the best time to short into strength and then cover on weakness when the market tanks next week.

Any suggestions?
