you said it well. very nicely expressed, and i believe sound.

the coconut's education is going well, and jack's learning is a bit more, how shall i put it, perhaps best, "hope for the best"

the coconut is done with "paradise lost" by milton (i looked it up, never read), and am unsure what if anything she is supposed to do as followup.

for humanities studies, she did ask for tutorial help w/ logical reasoning and reasoned writing, and specifically wanted to attend an outside-school class over the golden week holiday for 90 minutes per day, 7 days. she also asked to be dropped by car but be allowed to return by bus. very good. she is of the opinion that even though artificial intelligence and robotics and whatever else changes everything from now to then, the creative goes shall remain human, even if machine-assisted. i hope her judgement is sound, and prediction tracks true.

re <<popular>> and 9th grade high school, she prides herself, "i am not one of the popular ones"

but, she is popular with the teachers.

for one class she received a C on a practice test. was stoic but agile, and had presence of mind to ask the teacher for an example of A-graded test from the past. On the actual exam she received an A, a prefect A, only one of two A's and the only perfect A.

This Friday, at age 14 and a few days, she has a day-long school assignment, to team w/ two other students and roam the city, out new territories ('country side') and outlying island.

Asked her what she wanted to do for Christmas / New Year's break. Answer, visit China countryside and a factory. And so it shall be so.

I look forward to dialogue w/ the teachers one-on-one next week. No trepidation.
