Going from .35u to .25u should get you about 20% to 30%
due to the smaller dimensions. The problem with the 6X86MX
is that some of the layout is M1 era, which is not optimum
for 5 layer metal. There has been continual work to enhance
performance incrementally, but a full optimization would
probably take longer than its worth, like maybe six months.
Unless they started six months ago..
