Pappy BEAM's money and ATCI's technology may be in the stars ( I hope). There is no choice. Beam can't survive into perpetuity not making lasers and only collecting royalties. They must upgrade their machines or buy a "better" more competitive machine. There are a few candidates for acquisition out there near approval in the FDA mix, ATCI be one of them. Also (and maybe you will know more about this than most), will the technology of the eye tracking and scanning lasers still come under the patents held by PPP? If not, that will be big trouble for VISX and BEAM. Jim (I know you are there), do you have any ideas on this?
