StaggerLee reiterates his short and intermediate-term (and long-term) Sell recommendation, noting THQI's ytd return of <15.8%>, underperforming 89% of all U.S. equities (or somewhere around that <g>).

Todd, you quoted a 25 day moving average and made some conclusions
based on that. The 25 days MA is definetly a short term MA. The only
way to know for sure if a stock is trending or not will be to use
Directional Movement(DM) indicator. It is recommended by Dr. Elders,
Marting Pring, Charles Le Beau and David W. Lucas, Robert W. Colby
and Thomas A. Meyers, and everybody else. I have fourteen books
on TA indicators and they all recommend using DM to determine the
trend. It is the most reliable for this task. Meyers and Colby tested over 50 years worth of data from Wall Street on DM and the results were really impressive. I have provided data on THQ price for a month before to prove that THQ was in a trending range because several people like you disagreed with DM that THQ was in a trending range. If DM indicates that THQ is in a trading range then you can be sure that Dr. Elders, Martin Prings, and everyone else will beleive DM. I will list all the price data begining with the middle of last October all the way to now. There is no author that I know off that recommends MA to determine trading ranges since you have to use visual inspection and it is very difficult to detect a trading range in this case. With DM there are no guesses. Dr. Elders covers DM in his book "Trading for a Living" on page 135. On page 141 and in the first paragraph Dr. Elder says the following:

When ADX points down, it is better not to use trend-following method.

The above is true starting with the middle of last October. Also
Martin Prings says that the stock will be in a trending range if
ADX is below 25 and so does Colby and Myers and the makers of Metastock and many others as well. ADX is below 25 starting with the middle of last October. There is no use in arguing with
DM but if you want to pursue this further then it is up to you.
