Benhamou lost most of his credibility with the street. He made too many predictions that didn't come true. I will list a few that come to mind: 1. He saw margin increasing in late 96. Right after, the hell broke out in NIC. 2. He saw 3com as king of the edge in networks. Fact is you don't make money on the edge. These days he doesn't even mention it any more. He eat his words. 3. He said "our merger is off to a tremendous start." Soon, the bom is dropped that several hundred millions, possibly a billion inventory too much. The guy has no credibility with me at all.
