CIVILITY: Trump Manages to Drag Politics Down Further With Attack on Former Mistress

No, I won’t be remotely shocked if some evangelical pastor works “horseface” into his Sunday sermon.
That’s right, the leader of the American evangelical movement, and a man with jowls that look like sacks of sand was at his gracious best today, attacking a woman he had sex with, behind his wife’s back.
On Monday, the Donald’s former mistress, porn star Stormy Daniels (real name: Stephanie Clifford) suffered a defeat in court.
A federal judge in California tossed out Daniels’ defamation lawsuit against the president, and in a move that has MAGAdooks celebrating today, she also must pay the president’s legal fees, in regards to this particular bit of ugliness.
Yeah. Not so fast. This isn’t the end.
Daniels has another lawsuit pending, in regards to the 2016 nondisclosure agreement. That one may be a bit trickier, for everyone involved.
In 2006, with Melania Trump at home with a newborn son, Donald Trump and Stephanie Clifford entered into an illicit affair.
Around that same time, he was also carrying on an affair with Playboy model, Karen McDougal.
He was wild about Stormy, proposing to put her on his show.
Both women were paid off in the run up to the 2016 election.
In the case of McDougal, a $150,000 check and promises of a regular feature column with The National Enquirer was enough to buy her silence.
David Pecker, a longtime, close friend of Trump’s, as well as CEO of American Media, Inc., parent company of The National Enquirer, engaged in what is known in the tabloid business as “catch and kill.” This means exclusive rights to a story are purchased, then the story is buried. That assures that nobody hears it, and that’s exactly what happened to news of the affair between Trump and McDougal.
Caught. Killed.
With Daniels, former Trump attorney and “fixer,” Michael Cohen arranged a payoff through a hastily set up shell company.
One nondisclosure agreement and a $130,000 payoff later, we get the mess we’re now faced with in what will likely be the most sordid, messy presidency in our nation’s history.
And we’ve lived through a Bill Clinton presidency, so that’s saying something.
Trump was a big backer of Bill Clinton, he thinks he was the greatest President of the past three decades.
With that said, I have to point out that we’ve had a lot of perverse presidencies. It’s not that Donald Trump is the only vile, adulterous lecher to occupy 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
It’s that he is so indecent, and he is buoyed by equally indecent and perverse supporters, that he has no ability to feel remorse for what he’s done (cheat on his wife).
HE drags his backers down to his level. Look at longnshort, when he's not wishing he voted for Obama i/o McCain, he's glorying in Trump's apparent triumph over a pornstar he pursued. Oh how, he wishes he was a tiny bit of the man Trump is. Like all Trumpsters, longnshort knows that what America has needed to become great again is a President who'll insult his old pornstar gif whom he once pursued in public.
The man has no ability to weather these storms he causes with anything resembling tact or common sense.
On Tuesday, the petulant man-baby popped up on his favorite forum, Twitter, and took a swipe at Daniels for her legal loss.

The president loves his childish names, mainly because his intellect is so horribly lacking.

We’ll put aside the fact that Trump has pretty much admitted he knew about the payoff to Daniels.
Michael Cohen has testified before a judge that Trump ordered the payoff.
So if she knows nothing about him, why pay her $130,000 a month before the election?
That question may be answered by the Southern District of New York, whose investigators are now looking into it as part of their campaign finance law violations case against Michael Cohen.
But in the meantime, we’re stuck in this circus, with Donald Trump acting like the uncouth, intellectually stunted embarrassment he is, and the other side flinging monkey offal right back.
The former adult film star later hit back at Trump, making a ribald reference to his genitals.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present your president. In addition to his…umm…shortcomings, he has demonstrated his incompetence, hatred of women and lack of self control on Twitter AGAIN! And perhaps a penchant for bestiality. Game on, Tiny,” she tweeted.

Daniels’ attorney, Michael Avenatti has been making waves, himself, as he tries to position himself to be one of a few who are looking to challenge Trump in 2020.
“You are a disgusting misogynist and an embarrassment to the United States. Bring everything you have, because we are going to demonstrate to the world what a complete shyster and liar you are. How many other women did you cheat on your wife with while you had a baby at home?” he tweeted.
We know of at least one other.
So welcome to politics in the age of Trump. Just when you think it can’t get any lower, it always does.
