He is likable. But, he isn't the sharpest spoon in the drawer, so he is gaff prone. Which is one of the reasons he never got far before. In addition, he is very old school and tends to be a bit handsy around women. That was never a huge issue before, but did come up. In today's environment, that will be an issue. Heck, we live in a time when mentioning a family legend about the ethnicity of an ancestor becomes a major political football. OTOH, Joe is probably the best vice-presidential material out there. He is gets along with pretty much everyone and no one is kept awake at night at the prospect of something happening to the president. Unlike, say Pence...
