RE: Within a two year time horizon, ORBs will be a commodity

You make it sound as if everybody will be selling ORBS. The two major players are VSGN and IONA. There is a lot of money to be made providing in the world with ORBS. Even if they do reach commodity status (Windows is a commodity as well). Every Enterprise application that sells will carry an ORB license. Even at $10-15, that could be a lot of licenses.

Also, do not forget that BORL gets Roger Sippl as Chief Technology Officer, and some strong talent in the enterprise area. With options near $6 the VSGN engineers and salesforce get near startup opportunity with a strong company.
