If they can expand the low end home PC market, even though they may share it with Cyrix/AMD, this will be primarily incremental sales. Explains why the overall GM% will go down, but the total profit dollars will go up. And yes, those are potential customers for next generation PC's.

Another interesting part (off topic) is that all the software, printer, etc. makers benefit, without the loss of GM percentage that the semiconductor and box makers have to sacrifice to grow the market.

Home PC penetration is estimated by Dataquest to be about 45%, could it go to 60% by year end? If so, what does that mean for companies like MSFT (software) and HWP (printers)?
