60 years ago Onehunga Carnegie library had children's science books telling me that atomic power stations would supply nearly free electricity.

In 1976 Noranda Metal Industries in Arnprior Canada bought lubricants from me (Texaco) to make nickel zirconium tubes for nuclear reactors.

Fast forward another 40 years and windmills are back in vogue, while nuclear reactor sales are zilch.

I told you so ... several decades ago I scoffed at the ridiculous safety claims of nuclear reactor proponents who claimed there was only a 1 in 10,000 year chance of a nuclear reactor disaster.

My argument was that wars happen a LOT more often than 10,000 years and power stations are a good target to disable opponents. Also that tsunamis, bolides, volcanoes ignore safety statistics. Not to mention Homer Simpson safety management.

Sure enough; Fukushima, Chernobyl, 3 Mile Island, nuclear reactor naval ships/submarines ... maybe I forgot some but that's enough and we haven't even had a war yet. No doubt Jihadists have pondered the fun they could have if they got a job as a safety manager of a nuclear reactor. We shouldn't be Islamophobic.

Meanwhile Donald Trump is cornered by elections, Congress, gigabucks, military MADness. Pompeo treading a fine line. If MBS keeps hus job, Trump loses his or Congress backers lose their's. Americans will be happy to see MBS join Khashoggi ... the average Yank is unhappy with the Saudi mass murder on 911 and destruction of the Twin Towers. Not to mention their dead, maimed and traumatized family members from the Afghan Iraq etc fallout which studiously avoided the actual Saudi impetus for 911.

It was surprising that Americans were suckered into attacking Saddam over imaginary WMDs in revenge for the 811 attack which had nothing to do with Saddam and his MBS-style sons.

Yet again Saudis give the fingers to USA. Looks like Trump will accept the insult and cash. Congress is not so sure ... elections in days.

PS... laughably Al Jazeera reporting that Khashoggi got in a fight at the embassy and he was accidentally killed. Fortunately the 15 executioners just happened to have a bone saw handy. Pure coincidence of course, just in case there are fights.

Meanwhile, in Yemen. And Crimea. And Ukraine. And South China sea not far from Hong Kong. Not to mention North Korea... and here comes a "caravan" busting into Mexico en route to USA.

At $90 a barrel for oil, coal now has a new lease on life. Orimulsion would do too if Venezuela wasn't such a disaster.

My patented CO2 disposal system could send the CO2 to the bottom of the ocean which can absorb all the CO2 people can produce.

Gigatons of CO2 are already turning into sedimentary layers at the bottom of the ocean when marine life dies and sinks.
