Dr D

You can run with the trend or stand aside, but you should not, regardless of sector fundamentals, run counter to the trend. Better to live and trade another day then to get squished.

So, what is the trend? The Chart says "not up."

Fundamentals say that, when other conditions are in place (higher oil prices; stability in OPEC procudtion; more stability in SE Asia), this sector could fly. All of the great fundamental information offered on this thread should allow you to invest with confidence when the trend turns up.

I don't think a person should look to this thread and expect to find how to invest. Every person has different objectives and risk tolerances. This is a place to share ideas, support and even ENTERTAINMENT.

Take it for what it's worth and don't try to make it something it is not. IMO, of course. (But then I just cheated on the God of Pies and had some donuts...I feel guilty, oh Pie-ous one (get it?)...maybe the donut adventure will be a rally incidator...)

Dr. D, you said: This can be dangerous to people who do not understand (including myself many times) and trade on these guys comments. Posts on this thread, as in other threads, span the great to the rediculous. One must be careful to sort them out correctly, and to do so takes a lot of independent research and a lot of work in general. But to "trade on these guys' comments" is certainly dangerous and ill advised. Some posters here are real experts, some pretend to be experts but are not, some are traders, some are investors. You have to develop a sense for the validity of their opinion and the coloring of the opinion based on their trading/investing acumen, philosophy and track records. I often use the group prognosis as a contrarian indicator. When all agree that the sector is heading South, like was the case yesterday, then chances are good that the sector is about to turn North as is happening today. Tulvio
