I am truly sympathetic to women. My wife tells me that EVERY woman has a story to tell and I believe her. The Kavanaugh hearing was a strange one for me. On the one hand, I think I believe Ford. On the other hand, we simply cannot live in a world where accusations are enough to destroy a person and his family. That is lawlessness and mob rule. The blame for that fiasco cannot be placed entirely on Trump. Ford did NOT want to come forward and tell her story publicly. That was clearly traumatic for her. And yet, Feinstein and the Democrats who leaked her story and outed her, were clearly aiming precisely for that. They did not give her a choice. And in doing so, they gave up any legitimacy to the proceedings.

What should have happened is due process and a presumption of innocence and a respect for the accuser and the accused. What should have happened is if Feinstein received that letter, she should have quietly and with 100% confidentiality requested a highly confidently FBI investigation to see if the case could be brought before a Grand Jury for indictment of Kavanaugh. If the FBI found enough evidence, then Kavanaugh could have been indicted and Trump could have easily gone to his next candidate, which is a very highly qualified woman. If the FBI did not find enough evidence to have a Grand Jury indict him, then the case would have been shelved quietly and the public would have never known anything about the accusation, protecting Kavanaugh and his family, since we would have to presume innocence without enough evidence to prosecute. That is the only way justice would have been served.

Instead, the Democrats politicized that poor woman and virtually guaranteed no justice of anyone involved would be served. The Democrats pushed everyone into a corner guaranteeing they would act the way they would. We simply cannot destroy our entire system of justice. If we do that, then every one of our sons, fathers, uncles, and brothers will be assumed guilty and their lives will be destroyed by feckless women.

I understand the outrage, but it is misplaced. Outrage does not justify dismantling of the best system of justice the world has ever created.
