Democrats Have Become the Party of Mental Illness

A deranged leftist in Texas goes Full Gollum. On the day of the Kavanaugh vote, the depth and breadth of the insanity of the left was on full display. These people have lost their minds?—?clawing at the gigantic bronze doors of the Supreme Court, howling and shrieking in the streets seemingly without rest?—?it’s really been quite a sight to behold.

But it seems that even though the Kavanaugh battle ended weeks ago, the left’s descent into madness has not abated.
These are not healthy individuals. This is not the way healthy people behave.

Liberal feminist actor Kiera Knightley won’t let her young daughter watch classic Disney movies because they don’t feature “strong female leads”
Crazy.

And all these mobs of Democrats hounding Republicans in restaurants and out in public? You have to be pretty nuts to do something like that.

Lest you think it’s just random nutcases on the street who don’t represent the broad majority of Democrats, look at perhaps the most visible and prominent Dem politician in the Trump era: Maxine Waters. This woman has incited mobs to harass and hound Republicans in public spaces, and once said that she wakes up in the middle of the night thinking about how she’s going to “get” President Trump:

“I wake up in the middle of the night, and all I can think about is, ‘I’m gonna get him. I’m gonna get him. I’m gonna get him.’”Keith Olbermann has 1.1 million followers on Twitter. He is not just a fringe figure on the left. But look at the stuff he says:

“TO HELL WITH YOU, YOU MOTHERF*CKING TRAITOR”

The left has gone crazy.

Kurt Schlichter has always referred to Trump supporters and Republicans as “normals” meaning regular Americans who just want to live in peace, or “militant normals” as he titled his new book, to describe regular Americans who have been pushed to their breaking point and turned to Donald Trump to fight back against the psychotically insane left.

I didn’t fully understand Schlichter’s use of “normals” until recently, though. All these displays of Democratic insanity have really made it clear: one of the biggest unspoken political divides in this country is mental health.

WaPo’s pretend-centrist opinion columnist Dana Milbank, a hardline Democrat, wrote last year that Trump is making us crazy. No, Dana: he’s making your side crazy. We’re actually doing great.

A 2012 study (conveniently timed for the re-election of Barack Obama) triumphantly declared that after exhaustive and complex research, it had been determined that conservatives were, indeed, much more “psychotic” than liberals. But then, in 2016, the conductors of the study came out and issued a complete reversal of their study and said, “No, actually, we got it wrong: liberals are the psychotic ones.

A political-science journal that published an oft-cited study claiming conservatives were more likely to show traits associated with “psychoticism” now says it got it wrong. Very wrong. The American Journal of Political Science published a correction this year saying that the 2012 paper has “an error”?—?and that liberal political beliefs, not conservative ones, are actually linked to psychoticism.“The interpretation of the coding of the political attitude items in the descriptive and preliminary analyses portion of the manuscript was exactly reversed,” the journal said in the startling correction. In June it was reported that conservatives are, on average, happier than liberals and also that conservatives find life more meaningful:

Researchers found that people who identified as conservatives were happier, more satisfied and have a greater purpose in life, according to a study published by Social Psychological and Personality Science on June 15. Study author David Newman from University of Southern California came to conclusions based on five separate studies that pooled 19,051 people from the European Values Survey; another 3,222 people from a separate survey; 1,595 people from the Baylor Institute of Religion survey; 1,252 people who partook in a survey that evaluated their happiness, purpose in life and stress; and another study that uncovered daily diary entries of 114 undergraduate students, accordingto PsyPost.“This is a small but robust relationship that was found in five data sets that include representative samples from 16 countries; some of the data were collected as early as the early 1980s, some were collected as recently as 2017,” Newman said to PsyPost.Another study found that liberals exhibit far higher levels of depression and bipolar disorder than do conservatives.

A Gallup survey from 2007 found that “Republicans Report Much Better Mental Health Than Others,” and that the “relationship persists even when controlling for other variables” like income, education and religion:

I know it’s from 2007 but that was the most recent I could find that had partisans rating their mental health straight-up.

I imagine there haven’t been many studies on the matter since 2007 given that the left has gotten far worse since then. The results of any such mental health study would look bad for the left. If there have been any subsequent studies they’re not easy to find.

Anyway, the #ScienceIsSettled on the matter.

Can you even imagine what will happen if the GOP holds the House and makes gains in the Senate?

Or when Mueller releases his investigation’s findings after the election and declares there was no collusion or obstruction?

I would say it’s going to get ugly, but it already is ugly.
